Who? Otto Von Bismarck
Why? Bismarck wanted Prussia to become a European power so he united all the Germans under Prussian leadership
How? Bismarck used a strategy of “Blood and Iron” using warfare and appealing to the common bonds of German nationalism.
Results:
1) Germany becomes a united nation-state.
2) The balance of power created by the Congress of Vienna is upset.
3) Germany begins to want a colonial empire to compete with the rest of the European powers.
