Who?: Inventors, scientists and farmers were responsible for the advances that created the population explosion.
Why?:
1) Improved health and sanitation standards. led to declining death rate
2) New medicines became available
3) New farming methods led to increased crop yields
Results:
1) The Industrial Revolution
2) Towns and cities became overcrowded -urbanization- (this would lead to worsening health and sanitation standards)
3) As people moved to the cities, landowners in the countryside bought up land and created huge farms.
