What?: An international organization led created after World War I intended to peacefully mediate international disputes.

Who?: Led by the Western Democracies (Britain and France), the League included all the European nations (except the Soviet Union) and Japan.

Why?: To avoid a repeat the horrific causalities and damage suffered by all during WWI

Results:
1)The league was weak and suffered from a lack of desire to take action.
2)League decisions were ignored by aggressive member nations like Italy, Germany and Japan.
3)Aggressive nations withdrew from the league when they disagreed with league decisions.
4)The league failed to prevent World War II, which caused the end of the league.
