What?: The starving and emigration of millions of Irish citizens of the British Empire.

Who?: The British and the Irish
How?: An agricultural disease destroyed the potato crop.
Why?:The potato crop failed causing massive starvation in Ireland. However while the Irish were starving British owned farms in Ireland exported food to England.
Results:

1) Two million Irish die of starvation
2)Two million Irish emigrate leaving Ireland with most heading to the United States
Importance: There is an increase in the animosity (anger) between the British and the Irish
