Allowed Private Property and introduced Free-Market Policies. Allowed Foreign industries to build in China and sent out Chinese students to study in the west.

Results:
1) China began moving toward a western/capitalist economy
2) Students returned to China with western ideas such as democracy, freedom of speech and natural rights.
3) China becomes a world economic power in the globalized economy
4) People in China begin protesting for natural rights leading to the eventual massacre at Tiananman Square by Deng's succesor.
