What?: A British company that won trading rights in India. The company controlled 60% of India for Britain and employed an army of loyal Indian soldiers called Sepoys.
Where?: Based in London England, the "company" ruled India for Britain.
When?: 1800's
Who?: British colonial officers and Indian Sepoy soldiers.
Why?: To gain profits from trade with India. Raw materials were shipped from India to England and finished goods were sold back to India by the "company". (

Importance: British rule brought peace and order to the countryside.
Railroads were built by the company to speed transport of raw materials.
Telegraphs were built by the company and communication across India improved.
Result: Quality of life improved under company rule however Indians were deprived of their natural rights and many grew angry under imperialist rule leading to the eventual
Sepoy Mutiny.
